There have been many albums of cowboy songs through-out the years – the lonesome pioneer out on the range forging a new nation. Here for the first time we have an album that also reflects the native peoples of that Nation, who were there long before the Europeans arrived!
Many of the Rock n Roll giants had full blooded Indian grandparents, an often unacknowledged fact in the history of popular music. Where-as in Hollywood the Indian was usually portrayed as a threatening savage, in popular music there was a more romantic telling of their colourful and often tragic story- So ride out here with ramblin’ cowboys -Gene Autry and Dusty Taylor- Thrill to Link Wray’s Comanche and hear the great Hank Williams talk about his own Indian ancestry!
