‘Blowin’ up a Storm’ Harmonica Blues Classics 1920s – 1940s – DL122
Released: 8th May 2017 – DOWNLOAD ONLY
The Harmonica has always been associated with the Blues as it allows the player to play the chords and a melody in a single key. Back in the early 20th Century the Harmonica (aka Mouth Organ/Harp) was thought of as a toy and an instrument for the poor- which is probably why so many Black migrants started using it, cheap to buy and easy to carry in your pocket it was going to catch on!.
Featured on this album are some of the greatest ‘harp’ players including Sonny Boy Williamson
(one of the most important players ever)…… Sit back, take a deep breathe and hear those shuffles, notes, rhythms and blues fly!
